Dr. John Stavrakos is a recognized expert in regenerative medicine with years of experience in the field. He is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), fellowship trained in Sports Medicine and is a certified practitioner of hormone replacement therapy through BioTE, as well as certified in cosmetic medicine through the National Laser Institute.
His academic career includes a residency at Stanford University and The Medical College of Wisconsin, where he went on to complete his fellowship. He is also a member of, and guest lecturer with the American Osteopathic Association of Prolotherapy Regenerative Medicine (AOAPRM), as well as being a member of the Stem Cell Physicians Network.
He has attended multiple educational/training conferences in the field of regenerative medicine, as well as having undergone one-on-one training with colleagues who are nationally recognized experts in the field.
Dr. Stavrakos practiced ‘traditional’ modern medicine in Chicago and northwestern Indiana for several years before beginning his calling in natural medicine (regenerative medicine, intravenous therapy, bio-identical hormone replacement et. al.). After creating the current medical model of two clinics in South Carolina that allowed for the expansion of two more facilities, and serving as the Medical Director, he decided to create Heritage Regenerative Medicine in the Charlotte, NC area in 2020 to better serve patients in the manner which would benefit them best.
In his free time, Dr. Stavrakos is an avid martial arts practitioner and a 4th degree black belt, and enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and two sons. In 2019, he wrote and published “The Athlete’s Secret to Conquering Pain – Heal Your Body and Boost Performance Through Regenerative Medicine” (https://johnstavrakosmd.com), which explains the science and philosophy of natural healing through regenerative medicine, hormone optimization, proper nutrition and exercise. The ultimate goal of his practice is to help patients help themselves to limit their doctor’s appointments to ‘well patient’ visits and routine screenings as opposed to managing chronic pain or disease.
His specialties include, but are not limited to:
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injection Therapy
- Stem Cell and Exosome Injection Therapy
- Neurofascial Prolotherapy (NPT)
- Cosmetic Regenerative Injection Therapy
- Sports Medicine
- Bio-Identical Replacement Therapy/Anti-Aging
- Ozone/Prolozone therapy (coming soon)
